Posizione lavorativa
Bonhams is looking for a Head of Italy. In your role, you will:
- Represent Bonhams in the country with the aim of sourcing profitable business for the company from the region;
- Liaise with specialist departments in Europe and London to define which art objects/cars they are looking for and arrange visits to clients and develop the business sourcing;
- Manage/Supervise the formalities for export licences;
- Define the key areas of business development for the country;
- Supervise the 2 offices of Rome and Milan and act as head of Rome office;
- Establish and maintain relationships with collectors, galleries, curators, art consultants, companies and banks who use or could potentially use Bonhams to buy or sell art;
- Find and encourage private clients within the region to buy or sell art works through Bonhams;
- Arrange events in Italy, for the promotion of Bonhams business: valuation days, lectures, talks, charity auctions etc;
- Ensure that Bonhams database of clients in the region receive regular communications from Bonhams, either through letters, e-mails, catalogues, department brochures, invitations or other Bonhams related material;
- Build, manage and maintain Bonhams database of clients for Italy on in-house computer database;
- Establish links with related companies to support and build Bonhams sales/database in Italy;
- Assist with all aspects of the setting up of exhibitions and/or sales within Italy;
- As and when necessary, travel to meet clients to promote Bonhams services and sales;
- Provide practical and administrative assistance for all Bonhams activities within Italy.
Profilo ricercato
Key skills and attributes:
- Strong business acumen, solid client portfolio of clients in Italy;
- Experience in an auction house either local or international;
- Fluent in Italian and English, fluency in French is advantageous;
- Management and coaching skills;
- Excellent IT skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Flexible team player;
- Good attention to detail.
